A dormant explosive forms an enormous risk for all (work) activities in a certain area. Even after dozens of years. Den Ouden Bodac is specialised in tracking down and securing explosive remnants of war (CS-OOO). Onland and in the water we have international experience. Many oceans and inland waters contain dormant explosives. These are the result of years of military conflict and dumping. Detecting and securing conventional explosives in an underwater environment. It is a complex and challenging operation. To which strict rules apply.

It requires highly qualified, certified and experienced personnel. It also requires advanced equipment. Our diving gear meets all the requirements of the WOD-SOE and IMCA-standards. Our team of specialists is highly professional. Our focus is always on creating and ensuring safety. This is only logical, considering the nature of our work. It goes without saying that we carry out all our operations in accordance with the relevant national and international rules and standards.

 

Which detection methods do we employ in searching for explosives under water?

First, we map out the suspect areas by way of thorough and certified preliminary research. Next, we accurately determine the exact location of the conventional explosives. We do this with innovative and advanced detection methods.

We have several kinds of detection methods at our disposal for tracking down explosive remnants of war. Underwater detection, depth detection, remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and the use of professional divers. Which detection method we choose depends on various factors. These may include the type of explosive we expect to find, the depth, the size and the circumstances at the detection area.
