UXO / OCE ROV research methodology

Bodac can deploy a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) to support the OCE/UXO survey activities. The ROV survey is carried out from a ship and can be equipped with additional inspection equipment, such as a suction pump, manipulator or magnetometers.

UXO / OCE Diver research methodology

Bodac uses underwater detectors that represent leading technology, reliability and outstanding quality in metal detection. The search system can be offered in different configurations, adapted to the needs of the customer.

After explosive detection offshore, the diver can examine the object, either by using a water jet, a 6 inch airlift or a suction pump. The diving activities are recorded by means of a modern video recording system.

 

OCE / UXO survey methodology

Bodac has several types of survey equipment for carrying out both inshore and offshore exploration activities.

A magnetometer detection is the most common method of detecting metallic explosives. Depending on the assignment, we select the type of magnetometer that is suitable for detecting underwater munitions and demolition munitions, including bombs. When interpreting the data from the magnetometers, we also take into account other buried hazards such as utilities, works of art or dump sites.

In order to carry out a systematic OCE / UXO explosives detection, sailing is carried out in parallel tracks with a constant height of the detectors above the seabed. Navigation and positioning instruments are placed on the detectors to ensure the correct position.
