Fertiplus® 4-10-2

Phosphate Plus

Product sheet
sla

Organic Compound Fertilizer 4-10-2 has high concentrations of the essential macro element phosphorus. After nitrogen, phosphorus is the most limiting factor in cropping systems. Phosphorus is an insoluble mineral and it is the most immobile, inaccessible and unavailable of all nutrients. Therefore, fertilizing with P is important. This fertilizer is extremely suitable for the start of a cultivation, as phosphate is important for rooting and for starting energy management and photosynthesis. Also, this fertilizer is the right choice for soils that contain low levels of phosphate. Organic Compound Fertilizer 4-10-2 has special slow release phosphates for young plants or phosphate fixing soils.

Benefits

  • Large proportion of available phosphorus
  • Good pH for phosphorus uptake
  • High organic matter content increasing several soil characteristics
  • Excellent fertilizer when soils are low in phosphorus
  • Improves root development
  • Broad spectrum of trace elements

General application advice

  • Apply one week prior to planting and mix with the top layer of the soil
  • If application before planting is not possible, apply before rain or use irrigation after application
  • Trees: distribute the fertilizer within the area above the roots. If possible, mix into the soil

Application & effect

In the beginning of plant growth, root development is very important. Unlike the leaves, roots do not contain chlorophyll (leaf green), so the energy for root growth must be provided by the green parts of the plant. At the start of a the cultivation, there are few green parts which results in minimal sugar production. Phosphate is partly responsible for the transport of energy to the roots, so it is therefore especially important at the beginning of the cultivation when a lot of root growth is required. The phosphate from 4-10-2 is released gradually, is less sensitive to fixation and is therefore efficient. Both to make phosphate available for the crop and to raise phosphate in soils for the longer term.
