Part of the fast cycle route from Cuijk to Nijmegen is the 2.15 km long section between the Zadelmakersdreef in Cuijk and the Lindenlaan in Mook. In addition to the intersections with the Galberg in Cuijk and the Mariagaarde near Katwijk, the bicycle-pedestrian bridge over the Maas and the viaduct over the N271 in Mook are also part of the contract.

The pre-determined contract amount is 12 million euros. This includes 25 years of maintenance of the bicycle-pedestrian bridge over the Maas. The cycle path of this part of the fast cycle route runs parallel to the existing rail connection between Nijmegen and Venlo. The bicycle-pedestrian bridge with a width of 6 meters and a steel main span of approximately 145 meters and bridges with a total length of approximately 215 meters will be positioned at a distance of approximately 20 meters from the existing railway bridge. In addition, the contract includes a viaduct over the N271 and the connection to the Veldweg.
An important award criterion in the tendering process was the architectural and landscape design. Together with Quist Wintermans Architecten and Karres + Brands Landscape Architecture, Den Ouden Civiele betonbouw and HSM submitted a design that was assessed by a special committee as attractive, recognizable and well thought out.
