Acquiring information

The purpose of the desk research is to acquire information from existing sources and data sets, such as geological data, archaeological data, historical sources and old maps and archaeological forecast maps.

This results in a report with a specified archaeological expectation for the plan area and advice for possible follow-up research.

Based on this report, the competent authority decides whether or not follow-up investigation is necessary.
