Two underground bunkers have been discovered while working on a project on a building plot in Vlissingen. Den Ouden Bodac got assigned the beautiful job to make these two bunkers visible en dig them empty. The bunkers where most likely used as a collection place for wounded german soldiers. This is evidenced by some sketches that were made shortly after the war.
Den Ouden Bodac has made the bunkers fully visible by now. we think is was a collection place for wounded german soldiers because of simple everyday finds. We found tableware, a boot and a ladle. These specific collection bunkers were a part of a much bigger hospital bunkercomplex where wounded soldiers were being treated an taken care for. The walls of the bunkers were two meters thick so they could take a quite big hit.
