Een nieuwe vliegtuigberging voor Den Ouden Bodac.
Den Ouden Bodac is commissioned by the muncipality of Albasserdam to start with the preperations for the storage of a hawker typhoon- fighter aircraft that crashed in the polder Krotland in Albasserdam during world war two. The storing of the wreck starts on the 26th of Febuary and will take approximately two weeks.
The plane wreck is in the soil under a quite accesible forrest- and walking area. Because of the possible pressence of remainders of ammunation, weapens and flueds, the municipality asked defence to store the wreck and remove possible ammunation. Den Ouden Bodac offers with this civil technical support and takes care of the remediation of possible contaminated ground. Den Ouden Bodac is one of the few company's in the Netherlands that are specialised in carrying out aircraft salvage operations.
Next to ammunation and other remains of weapens, according to research there is jet fuel present in the soil around the plane. The presence of the wreck forms a health and safety risk for people, flora and fauna in the area
With the storing of the plane wreck Den Ouden Bodac makes the soil safe again for people and the environment.
