Newly built Parhelia Shed EBS Rotterdam
European Bulk Services B.V. (EBS) operates a terminal for the storage and transshipment of various agri-bulk goods on the Elbeweg in the Europoort area in Rotterdam.
European Bulk Services B.V. (EBS) exploiteert een terminal voor op- en overslag van diverse agri-bulkgoederen aan de Elbeweg in het Europoortgebied te Rotterdam. Den Ouden Civiele Betonbouw kreeg de opdracht van EBS voor ontwerp en realisatie (civiele deel) van de nieuwe opslagloods op deze locatie.

The mechanical engineering and electrical engineering part was carried out by subcontractors on behalf of EBS. Coordination of the work and the design at interfaces for the civil, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering part falls within the scope of Den Ouden Civiele Betonbouw.
The work mainly consisted of:
• Demolition of the existing Linora building
• Removal of asphalt and pavements
• Modification and diversion of existing sewage system, drinking water pipe and fire extinguishing system.
• Carrying out infrastructure work for the realization of a foundation on steel
• The design and realization of a dry storage shed with a theoretical storage volume of approx. 50,000m³ of agri-bulk product
• The design and realization of a steel roof construction with sandwich plating
• The supply and installation of concrete foundations and cast-in facilities for mechanical and electrical installations
• Making transits in the existing silo complex for the mechanical transport systems
• Repairing asphalt and pavements
During the work, EBS's business operations continued unimpeded. Weekly meetings were scheduled to align construction activities with EBS operational activities. The project was completed in December 2020.
