Our laboratory
Den Ouden PHC is driven by a scientifically based conviction about what agriculture and horticulture could look like when the use of artificial fertilizers is phased out and the use of pesticides is minimised. In order to continuously investigate and adjust this vision, Den Ouden PHC conducts a lot of research in its own laboratory.
The plant itself is best able to protect itself, which is why healthy soil biology is essential for healthy crops. The condition of the soil and its micro-biodiversity are of utmost importance. To determine and understand the health of the soil, we conduct continuous research and analysis in our laboratory. With this knowledge, our advisors are better able to assess the soil health of our customers. By conducting internal and external cultivation experiments, demonstration projects and analyzing the results, we not only increase the knowledge of the interaction between soil, plants, fungi and rhizobacteria, but also the knowledge of our customers.
PHC conducts continuous research into the interaction between plant and soil, and how PHC's products can optimize cultivation.
Data and experiences are collected through laboratory research and cultivation trials at customers. After thorough analysis and control of this data, we can translate the invisible processes in the soil into visible figures. This provides knowledge that we integrate into cultivation advice for our customers.
PHC is constantly improving and developing the various products. For only one reason: what is good can be better. We do everything we can to continuously guarantee quality and effectiveness. We do not only research in our laboratory, the application of the research results is tested year after year under different field conditions. This is how we work every day on our knowledge and that of the growers.
We develop products that are in no way harmful to the environment. Because we believe that with current knowledge there is still much to be gained from the capacities that plants have evolved over 450 million years, our research focuses on the interaction of life in the root zone (rhizosphere) and plant growth. With more than 20 years of experience in mycorrhiza and rhizobacteria research, PHC is the market leader in mycorrhiza, root bacteria and organic fertilizers that nourish both the plant and the soil
By combining different research methods, we are able to combine a number of important parameters for soil health.
The PHC laboratory offers soil and plant analyzes in collaboration with various laboratories in the Netherlands and abroad in order to provide our customers with the best advice. PHC supplies mycorrhiza analyzes and can count universities and experimental companies among its customers. The specialty of the PHC laboratory is mycorrhizal analysis, Chroma determinations to monitor the increase in soil quality from year to year. Finally, we offer soil Glomaline analyses. This determines the presence (or absence) of functional mycorrhizae in the soil.
