The effect of harpine protein on cherries

Oregon State University has investigated the effects of pre-harvest application, concentration, number of applications and time of application of harpine protein on the sweet cherry varieties Lapins and Regina.


Oregon State University conducted research on the effects of preharvest application, concentration, number of applications and timing of harpine protein in the Lapins and Regina sweet cherry varieties. Improvements in firmness, fruit size, colouration, sugar/acid content, susceptibility to dropout during storage and nutritional absorption capacity were examined.

StonefruitConsult is a partnership between Delphy, Caf and Fruitconsult. In their newsletter of May 2020, they published about the research that had been done on the effect of harp proteins.

The University of Oregon has also conducted a scientific study on post-harvest quality on cherries.
